Cleveland Flats

Cleveland, OH

CMG was initially hired by a local public space and arts advocacy group to create a plan for contiguous remnant sites in downtown Cleveland.

As the Flats neighborhood continued to attract reinvestment, the potential of these landscapes increased, especially when considered together. The sites included abandoned industrial land, historic bridges, towpaths, and a railbed that ultimately became the armature for the Lake Link Trail that runs through the Flats, ending at Lake Erie in Wendy Park. CMG led the design planning for all of these open spaces, advocating to restore this environmentally degraded place.
