A land-use concept plan and open-space design for approximately 80 acres, including 23 acres of designed landscape open space, parks, plazas. The educational plan and the site design for the Ohlone Newark Center are interwoven in plan and practice to create an ‘estuary for learning’ set in a landscape that reveals the latent qualities of its site. As the first certified LEED Platinum campus in the US, Ohlone sets a benchmark for colleges, with advanced stormwater management, brownfield remediation, and a campus design that uses the site and adjacent estuary as a teaching tool.
