The project site is an 8-acre parcel in Palo Alto, California. Construction consists of a Jewish Community Center (JCC) and an independent and assisted living facility known as the Jewish Senior Residences (JSR). Both the JCC and JSR are located on top of an on-grade parking podium. The landscape for the Taube Koret Campus for Jewish Life (CJL) has two guiding themes. While the landscape at the ground floor is weaving the project into the street fabric of Palo Alto, the first floor level creates the specific identity of the CJL. It reflects on the biblical landscape referencing planting associated with North Africa and the “Holy Land”.
