Jewish Community High School

The central courtyard at the Jewish Community High School incorporates elements at each of its four edges to encourage different activities. The “Plinth” is a large concrete bench/stage adjacent to the active cafeteria terrace. The “Citron” benches are smaller and more quiet, adjacent to the art terrace. The “Palm Rings” offer passive seating at the far edge of the courtyard. The 75 foot long concrete bench wall adjacent to the basketball court is an active edge for hanging out. The center of the limestone courtyard is open for flexible social interactions and programs including space to erect the ritual sukkah enclosure for the annual Festival of Sukkot.
