Stanford in Redwood City

The plan for Stanford in Redwood City creates a balance between campus buildings and landscaped open space.  Here, built form and planted and paved open spaces are richly arrayed, forming a hierarchy of private, semi-public and public spaces designed to both support the campus’s internal activities and also to provide a sense of place so prevalent on the main campus. It is this developed open space, open to the neighborhood, that distinguishes the new campus from a typical suburban development.  The interaction of built form and landscape will provide a rich and interesting mix of interior and exterior activities.
