At this boarding school’s rambling campus, CMG provided landscape design within the native woodland setting of the Pebble Beach coastal area in Carmel, CA. The boarding school emphasizes opportunities for rich social interaction, which is supported by CMG’s design for a wide range of gathering spaces including a fire pit, study areas, and widened stairways for seating. Central to the campus, a sculptural bowl shaped amphitheater supports the school’s new Rosen Student Center. The amphitheater serves as a campus green and is subtly contoured to fit its site. CMG continues to work with the Stevenson School on master planning and improvement projects.
