The Circle of Palms Plaza, adjacent to the San Jose Museum of Art and Cesar Chavez Park in downtown San Jose, serves as a forecourt to the museum and provides as an iconic civic space for daily use and events. The setup of a seasonal and successful ice-skating rink disrupts plaza use for long periods of time. CMG worked with the Redevelopment Agency and Downtown Association to integrate a permanent ice rink, address new circulation and provide new amenities such as shade, seating, and planting areas
