A true legend in the recording industry, The Plant has been the "office" of the likes of The Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Santana, John Lee Hooker, Metallica, Primus, and many other rock and roll superstars. The project is the addition of a garden room which will serve as an amenity to the bands in Studio Room 3 during their long recording sessions. The small garden (20ft x 45ft) is totally enclosed and contains a deck with a long bench, Jacuzzi, water feature, tropical planting and a greenhouse. The playful curvilinear shape of the deck and sinuous bench create diverse spaces within the garden and add a dynamic visual quality.
