Scraphouse was an intensive one month design/build exercise in fabricating a structure entirely out of recycled materials. Held in San Francisco to commemorate the founding of the United Nations, the construction of Scraphouse was spearheaded by Public Architecture, who assembled and coordinated a team of local designers for the project. The design team, which included CMG, framed a conceptual approach to the building and then designed various components overnight. A broad team of volunteer artists and builders, including the designers, constructed the house over four days in front of San Francisco's City Hall.
