Ohlone Community College

This land-use conceptual plan and open-space design (totaling approximately 80 acres) includes 23 acres of designed landscape open space, parks, and plazas. The educational plan and the site design for the Ohlone Newark Center are interwoven to create an ‘estuary for learning’ set in a landscape that reveals the latent qualities of its site. As the first certified LEED Platinum campus in the US, Ohlone sets a benchmark for colleges, with advanced stormwater management, brownfield remediation, and a campus design that uses the site and adjacent estuary as a teaching tool.
