The Treasure Island Redevelopment Master Plan transforms this former military base at the center of San Francisco Bay into a vibrant neighborhood that serves as a model for 21st century development. The concept embraces the natural forces and beauty of the Bay and combines a natural park with compelling urban design. The resultant design creates 250 acres of open space and parks, which include civic parks and plazas, sports and recreation parks, a waterfront promenade, ferry plaza and harbor waterfront esplanade, wetlands, and a tidal marsh.
