Crissy Field

San Francisco, CA

Situated in the nearly 1,500-acre Presidio military base that was converted to a National Park, Crissy Field is a 100-acre waterfront park that is managed by the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, built in 1999 and designed by Hargreaves Associates.

CMG is proud of our partnership with the Parks Conservancy at Crissy Field, from its design to its ongoing stewardship through many projects. We are currently working on the Crissy Refresh Master Plan, to explore how the park might function for the next fifteen years and beyond.

Past projects have included a new Crissy Field Center for environmental education and youth programming and Crissy Overlook, a collection of new seat wall and benches to honor the gifts of the Evelyn and Walter Haas, Jr. Fund, a hallmark contributor to the original Crissy Field project and the major patron of capital improvements.

We’ve played a part in numerous studies and competitions for the Mid-Crissy Learning Landscape, including the former YMCA and Presidio Education Center. We were the landscape architect for the Parks Conservancy’s bid for the Presidio Commissary Competition: the Presidio Exchange. Most recently, CMG led a finalist team in the Presidio Parklands Competition, for the 10-acre land bridge to connect Crissy Field to the Presidio Main Post.
