Julie Gawendo

Julie is an Associate at CMG Landscape Architecture. Julie has ten years of global experience designing and managing landscape projects at a variety of scales. Her passion lies within the urban environment with a deep interest in the power of design as a catalyst for positive change. Prior to CMG, Julie was involved with the design, management and development of the Governors Island Park and Public Space in New York, NY - from concept through construction. Julie has been a Visiting Jury Critic at the Department of Landscape Architecture for many universities throughout the country, from the University of Pennsylvania to University of California, Berkeley. As an advocate for equity in design, she has also been at the forefront of organizing and facilitating conversations around Women in Landscape Architecture including CMG’s recent salon and panel discussion, Women and Leadership in Design. Julie holds a Master of Landscape Architecture from Harvard University Graduate School of Design and a Bachelor of Science in Communication from Boston University.
